Thea LaFond, the sole representative of Dominica at the World Indoors, claimed the gold medal. At the Paris Olympics, she remains the lone woman athlete from her country in track and field, achieving another extraordinary feat: securing Dominica’s first-ever Olympic medal, a gold.
