Inova Fairfax Unveils Dedicated Children’s Emergency Room

Inova Fairfax opened its new children’s emergency room, offering a dedicated space with a kid-friendly lobby, state-of-the-art equipment, and spacious rooms. A full list of what is provided can be seen listed below:
- Pediatric ER doctors, physician assistants and nurses at each location
- Child life specialists trained to ease anxiety in children and explain procedures in an understandable and comforting manner
- Kid-friendly treatment rooms and waiting areas
- Access to iPads, DVD players and games for children being treated
- If needed, expedited transfer to Inova L.J. Murphy Children’s Hospital from any Inova location

Previously, adults and children shared an ER entrance, but Clinical Director Shayna Dixon says the new facility provides much-needed separation to better serve the community’s children. See the address for each dedicated Children’s Urgent Cares below:
