RFK Stadium Demolition To Start In Late January

It has been announced that the demolition of the historic RFK Stadium will begin in late January 2025. Events DC shares that contractors have begun preparations on selective interior work and exterior cladding removal.

Once President Joe Biden signed a bill officially transferring the stadium land into DC’s control, changes have been put into full motion in hopes of getting the Washington Commanders back in the nation’s capital. From its opening in 1961, RFK Stadium was the place for all of The District’s professional sports, concerts, and other major events before its closure in 2017. With the Commanders potential return, professional Basketball, soccer, baseball and football will be played in Washington, DC!
