Lamar Jackson Steps Into Acting with Power Book III: Raising Kanan

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is taking on a new challenge—acting. The 28-year-old NFL star will make his television debut in season 4 of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, appearing as a guest star.
Jackson will portray a character named E-Tone, described as “an intimidating figure not to be messed with.” While details of his role remain under wraps, first-look photos suggest he will have a connection to Unique, played by Joey Bada$$, whose character is on a warpath after a shocking return in the season 3 finale.
In a statement, the 2024 NFL MVP expressed excitement about his new venture.
“I’m so excited for fans to see me in this new role and thrilled to be a part of Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” Jackson told PEOPLE. He teased that E-Tone is “a deadly, dangerous character” and warned, “You don’t want to get on his bad side!”
Joey Bada$$ also shared insights into his character’s transformation in season 4. “Let’s take the calm, charismatic, well-calculated fly dude and make him unhinged,” he explained, referring to Unique’s growing paranoia and thirst for revenge.
“He’s convinced himself that everybody conspired against him,” Bada$$ said. “He’s been isolated, left alone with his thoughts, and now he’s re-entering the world seeing things from the wrong perspective, which fuels his decision-making in a dangerous way.”
New episodes of Power Book III: Raising Kanan season 4 premiere Fridays at 12 a.m. ET on Starz. Fans eager to see Lamar Jackson’s acting debut can catch his episode later this season.
Stay tuned to see if the NFL superstar’s performance on screen is as electrifying as his game on the field!
