Former Amazon Driver Sentenced After Baltimore Hit-and-Run

The Baltimore Amazon driver that was seen hitting a pedestrian with an Amazon van and leaving the scene, was sentenced on Monday. Sources say the now suspended Amazon driver Jerome Allan Young Jr. was sentenced to 45 days of home detention, 45 days in jail, two years of probation, and will also have to complete mandatory driver’s education courses. In response to the sentencing, Baltimore City State’s Attorney Ivan J. Bates said,
“I sincerely hope that Mr. Young’s 45 days of incarceration, coupled with home detention, supervised probation, and mandatory driver’s education courses, will serve as a pivotal turning point.”
He also added,
“Our office views Mr. Young as a young person who made a grave mistake, but one without malicious intent.”
